This board game is a mobile and tablet version of one of the most famous classical board games. The logics and Dominant Mind Code Breaker game rules are very similar to an earlier invented mind game called Bulls and Cows that was played with a pencil on paper.
Game Rules
Dominant Mind Code Breaker is a mind game that is played on a decoding board with a shield covering four colored pins, the goal is to guess the code and recreate the hidden row in this board game. Below the shield there are eight horizontal rows where the player, code breaker is able to guess the color and placing of the covered pins. On the right side of each horizontal row there are holes for pegs where the software will provide feedback for the code breaker after every attempt made to guess the code:
- black peg indicates right color pin in right place
- white peg indicates right color pin in wrong place
- no peg indicates wrong color and place
The code breaker only gets one peg for every covered color that they guess right. If there are two pins of the same color hidden behind the shield, and the player guess that there are three pins of that same color, the player can still only get two pegs indicating right color.
Once the feedback has been provide the code breaker has a new attempt to guess the color/placing and break the code, with the help of the feedback and logical thinking.
As the numbers of rows indicate you only have eight attempts to guess the code you will be awarded points when you guess the color right and extra bonus points when you crack the code. Extra points are also awarded if you break the code in an early stage of this logic game.

Great game but run out of plays very quickly and have to wait to long to reload. Fix that and well have a perfect game !!
I loved this game as a child and now its great to have it on my phone many years later. The only downside is it takes a very long time for your lives to restore.
its fun to solve but, like several other reviewers have stated, you cant look at a completed game. this flaw extends into playing a game through a facebook connection. you dont know if your friend has accepted the challenge, if they played, if they were able to figure your pattern, nothing. my inability to connect with my out-of-state masterminds aside, the single-user game play is close enough to the original.
there should be a party mode. a mode that allows another person to pick the pattern, as if my ipad were an original mastermind board. holding the ipad up lets the game know a pattern will be set, then laying the ipad down says the codebreakers having their go.
I used to love playing this board game so I love that there is a phone version now.
Very simple to play and quite a brain exercise.
Wish I could analyze my mistakes and how I could have solved it sooner. The screen should not switch to result without a click by the player.

Great way to kill time. Bright simple interface. Have not tried to challenge friends but will soon.
Some bad moments
Great game, too many ads, too little lives in 24hr period, too expensive to upgrade a one trick pony.
If u dont solve the game as soon as they show u the "answer" the pegs are uncovered and before u can see them, within a blink of an eye, a full page Ad takes up the screen. I like to see where I went wrong. #2 when youre on the main page where u start the game u will see a number next to the light bulb. If it says 3 then there will be three of the same colored peg. 3 blue etc. You would have to END every game until u see a 1 there. Im done with it all.
Its not like mastermind with real people, I had a code of yellow yellow blue yellow and it said that my yellows were the right colour but in the wrong spot!! Fix now!
Way too many ads and limits number of times you can play unless you pay.
Game is basically a front to entice you into buying other games. Stay away. I couldnt stop the pop ups from overtaking the app.
Used to love this game as a kid. Enjoyable BUT the RIDICULOUS amount of ads is intolerable. For that amount of pop ups I should be able to play more often in a twenty four hour period. Not worth it. Deleted.
